Slight risk of severe weather Wednesday

Highs in the mid 80s

DETROIT – Rain and thunder are rumbling through parts of Metro Detroit this Wednesday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of SE Michigan in a slight risk for severe weather today as several waves of thunderstorms will be producing scattered soaking downpours and the threat for strong wind and hail. There's even a remote chance or threat for isolated tornadoes.

All of that being said, keep an eye on the radar and you will be able to enjoy the outdoors at times. Just keep an eye on the skies and prepare for a few delays.

Highs will stay in the low to mid 80s under mostly cloudy skies and periodic rain cooled air.

Thursday morning showers are possible, but most of tomorrow will be dry. Highs will be in the 80 degree range after a morning low in the mid to upper 60s. Other than a few very isolated showers, it will be mostly cloudy and mostly quiet.

Expect periods of stormy weather coming and going Friday through the weekend. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s to end the week as the weather pattern continues to be touch and go.

Don't plan on an all weekend washout, but some of your plans could be impacted. We may even have a few showers hanging on Monday which is the big Fireworks Show downtown Detroit.
