Snow in Thursday forecast for Metro Detroit

Local 4Casters say some north parts of Metro Detroit could get 6 inches of snow

DETROIT – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Thursday night and Friday morning in southeastern Michigan counties.

A mix of light rain and snow is expected to develop Thursday afternoon.

Depending on the storm's exact track, Local 4Casters expect areas near the state's southern border to get mostly rain. Areas in the middle of Metro Detroit are expected to get a mix between rain and snow that will eventually change to only snow.

Northern most areas of Metro Detroit should get more snow for a potential total of 6 inches.

Snowfall is expected to end Friday morning.
