I spoke with the National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office for Detroit and Southeast Michigan just before Local 4 News at Noon.

Detroit's snowfall is recorded at Metro Airport, and they officially received 2.5 inches. About 6 inches of snow fell across a broad area of Southeast Michigan.

As of 10:53 a.m., more than 3 inches fell in neighborhoods in Wayne County like Northville with 3.3 inches and Livonia with 3.8 inches.

Cities and towns in Oakland County received more.  6.5 inches fell in Ortonville while Farmington Hills and Rochester Hills received 4.5 and 4.8 inches, respectively.

In Macomb County, Utica received 3.5 inches and Richmond got 4.6.  Many Downriver communities south of I-94 were more icy than snowy.

Monroe had 0.1 inches of ice according to the NWS.

These numbers may be updated Friday afternoon so be sure to watch Local 4 News at 4, 5, 6 and 11 and check for updates on the Weather Page of ClickOnDetroit.com.

The snow will provide the perfect setting for the Motown Winter Blast from Friday through Sunday at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit.  Friday afternoon will be mostly cloudy with highs near 30. Saturday will be sunnier with highs in the middle and upper 20s. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs near 35.
