Soggy Saturday start with 80s on the way

DETROIT – More summer-like weather is here for the weekend. Race For The Cure and Flower Day are big events. Families will need to prepare for some wet weather to go with daytime temps near 80°F or more.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the cure starts Saturday morning, and you can join local four news in downtown Detroit! In addition to remembering to wear pink, grab umbrellas for the family in case any scattered showers pop up during the walk and festivities. Temperatures will start in the mild 60s.

Saturday afternoon will be warm partly sunny with highs near 80°. During the heat of the day scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. Detroiters need to prepare for occasional heavy downpours gusty winds and lightning.

Spotty showers and storms will linger Saturday evening with temperatures in the 70s.

Saturday night will be mild and muggy with lows in the middle 60s. Patchy fog will develop by dawn.

Flower Day, in Detroit's Eastern Market Sunday, will be warm with more scattered showers and storms. In fact, Sunday and Monday will feel and look more like summer with more sunshine, highs in the low to middle 80s and scattered showers and thunderstorms. Wet weather will be more widespread Monday.

After the call from passes mostly sunny skies return the temperatures drop again. Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday will have highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
