DETROIT -

Radar will be quite active the next couple of days around SE Michigan. But, we are likely going to dodge the freezing rain threat this morning.

Instead, expect spotty morning rain showers with a chance for a light wintry mix into our northern counties along and north of I-69. Today’s 1:08pm Tiger game could be delayed at times with more rain chances moving in around or just after noon.

Computer models carry most of the rain and thunder south of Detroit with a brief period of light to moderate rain midday today. But, the radar tells a bit of a different story and we could see more of the rain west of Chicago this morning moving across a larger part of Metro Detroit.

Either way, it will be cooler and becoming breezy, so you’ll need to bundle up with the rain gear just in case. Highs Today will only see low to 40s with winds NE 10-20 mph at times this afternoon.

We can expect another wave of rain and thundershowers on Friday morning and then on and off throughout the day. So again, the afternoon Tiger game will see some rain.

You can expect to feel warmer air with breezy SSW winds 10-20 mph gusting to 30 mph boosting temps into the mid 50s and possibly low 60s. We will likely see scattered thundershowers in the area with the approach of a warm front tomorrow.

Saturday may begin with a light snow shower before we start to dry out for the weekend. Saturday highs will be in the mid 40s with cool and breezy conditions but sunshine returns.

And, Sunday looks like the better of the two weekend days back into the low 50s.
