Storm chances remain across Metro Detroit

Heavy downpours expected at times

DETROIT – On 4 Live Radar, scattered thunderstorms can be seen moving across Southeast Michigan. One storm prompted a warning.

It's possible other storms could get near the severe threshold, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated. The storms will mainly feature intense, brief downpours with plenty of lightning and the possibility of small hail. Most storms should be wrapping up by 6 or 7 p.m. An isolated storm might be around through sunset.

Beyond that, expect partly cloudy skies Monday night with temperatures dropping to the upper 50s. Winds will be light and out of the southwest.

On Tuesday, we'll see partly cloudy skies to start. The afternoon might be wet in spots, but it should be mainly showers with limited thunder. High temperatures should return to the upper 70s.

We'll finally stay dry on Wednesday. Skies will be partly cloudy with comfortable highs in the upper 70s. That's still slightly below normal for mid-June.

Here comes the heat for the second half of the weekend. Highs will return to the mid-80s on Thursday, and a thunderstorm chance will come back as well. On Friday, some showers and possibly a thunderstorm will linger around before drying out late in the day. Highs will again reach the mid-80s with noticeable humidity.

The weekend doesn't look half bad -- half being the operative word. Check out which days look better in our 10-day forecast.
