Storm chances soar as temperatures rise

DETROIT –    Today we will hit the boiling point, which means our temps soar into the 90's this afternoon prompting storms. The Heat Advisory continues around Metro Detroit through the afternoon and evening. But, an approaching cold front will spark strong to severe weather after 2 or 3 PM. So keep yourself hydrated and keep your eyes to the skies today. The main threats include dangerous lightning, damaging winds, and hail. Not everyone will see severe weather today, but we all need to be prepared.  Another round of storms is likely later this evening with the chance for a few super soakers after sunset.

Another cold front will swing through heading into Thursday. So temps tomorrow will be much more comfortable. Highs will likely stop in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees with only partly sunny skies. Most of tomorrow will be dry after a chance for a few morning showers… especially south of Detroit.

We will start to feel the chill on Friday where temps are in the 50's most of the day with cool breezes. And, light rain showers will be scattered around making it feel like a cold fall day.
