Storms cause damage, knock out power in Metro Detroit

DTE Energy reports 60,000 customers without power after storms

DETROIT – Storms moved through Metro Detroit Wednesday evening, knocking out power to thousands across Metro Detroit.

As of Thursday, DTE says 60,000 customers remain without power in the metro area. That is down from 70,000 without power Wednesday evening.

DTE said they expect to have "most" of the power back by Thursday night.

Many trees were snapped and branches flung as wires were downed.

Northville was hit particularly hard by the weather.
