DETROIT - Developing thunderstorms across southwest lower Michigan early Tuesday evening will move eastward, and these storms have a reasonable chance of becoming severe and affecting areas south of 8 Mile Road between now and 10 p.m.
Thunderstorms are less likely north of 8 Mile Road but there is still a chance. It will continue to be muggy overnight, with lows near 70.
There's another chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday, with humid highs once again in the mid-80s. Then we start seeing a pattern change, as an upper level low pressure area develops and parks itself over the Great Lakes region.
This will bring relief from the heat (highs only in the 70s by this weekend), but also shower chances each of the next seven days.

The more sun we see, the closer to 90 degrees we may be. Otherwise, muggy 80s with scattered afternoon storms.
