Sultry Wednesday afternoon with storms possible again

Highs in the low 80s, another wet forecast

DETROIT – The Detroit area has had on and off light to moderate rain Wednesday ever since Local 4 News Morning started in the pre-dawn hours. The rest of the day will be mostly cloud but warm with temps climbing to the low 80s before day's end.

Wednesday afternoon may become more volatile. Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast and the National Weather Service is keeping Detroit and all of Southeast Michigan in the "Slight Risk" category of the occurance of severe weather. Damaging winds, hail, lightning and heavy downpours are possible. Lower Michigan has been spared from this activity for the past two days. However, this is a new day and it is better to be safe than sorry.
