Summer-like Sunday afternoon

DETROIT – The main sign of fall will be the changing color of Detroit area leaves. Otherwise, is will feel like summer Sunday and much of this week.

Once the fog goes away temperatures rise rapidly and jackets and sweatshirt can be shed. T-shirt weather returns by lunchtime and Sunday afternoon with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures near 80 degrees. Weather will be great for the 1pm ET Detroit Tigers game against the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park. Although it is autumn, baseball fans must remember to use sun block at the ball park.

Sunday evening will be fair and mild with temperatures near 70 degrees. Roads will be dry for Sunday dinner plans.

Sunday night will be clear through the midnight hour, but patchy fog will redevelop when people need to go back to work and school at dawn on Monday.

Monday will end up bright and warmer than average, again. Afternoon temps will be near 75 degrees. A weak cold front moves across Southeast Michigan Monday night bringing cloudier skies and a slight chance of scattered showers. Sunshine returns Tuesday with highs near 70 degrees. Mainly blue skies remain Wednesday, Thursday and most of Friday with high temps climbing back to the middle 70s. Yom Kippur begins Friday evening with a chance of showers. Saturday will be partly sunny with highs near 70.
