Sunday Forecast: Scattered rain showers

Warm day for Metro Detroiters

We're waking up with one less hour of sleep Sunday morning after the clocks jumped forward at 2 a.m. for Daylight Saving Time.

Scattered light rain showers are possible (mainly west) between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, but most of the rain today is across Western Lower Michigan. Areas northwest of Metro Detroit may see a light wintry mix if temps drop down enough. It will turn out to be a warmer day with mostly cloudy skies and highs reaching the mid-50s. Warm winds will be picking up from the south 10-15 mph. Rain showers will return after midnight Sunday.

Monday will be the wettest day of the next week. We'll see heavy rain early Monday which could slow down your morning commute. Temps will once again reach near 50 degrees and the rain will take a break from mid-morning through early afternoon. Some lighter hit and miss rain will return by afternoon and then temperatures cool off heading through the rest of the week.
