DETROIT – Sunday will stay brisk with a ten to fifteen mile per hour northwest wind making it feel like zero. Lions tailgaters will need their thickest coats, hats, scarves and gloves and remain close to the grill to remain warm.
Sunday afternoon will remain much colder than normal with highs near twenty-five degrees, which is twenty degrees below average. Wind chills will be in the single digits and teens all day outside Ford Field as the Detroit Lions battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All of Southeast Michigan will be frigid, but skies will be partly to mostly sunny. The only area close to having snow are regions in the Thumb and along the Lake Huron coast from Port Austin to Port Huron.
Sunday night will be frigid with lows in the upper teens and wind chills in the single digits. Skies will be partly cloudy.
Another cold front arrives Monday with a forty to fifty percent chance of snow. Accumulations will be very low, but bursts of snow may cause temporary white-out conditions in various areas. Highs will be in the low 30s.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and chilly with highs near 35 degrees.
The big travel day, Wednesday will be mostly sunny in Motown and Southern Lower Michigan with highs near 30, but a Nor'easter is poised to form along the Atlantic Coast. Depending on its trajectory, snow or rain will plague the I-95 corridor from Washington, DC, through Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
Thanksgiving, Thursday, will still be colder than average. Morning temps will be near 20 for early-risers headed to America's Thanksgiving Parade. Afternoon highs will be in the low 30s with partly sunny skies.
Dry, cold weather is expected for Black Friday, too.
