Sunny Saturday afternoon, warm

Highs in the mid and upper 70s

DETROIT – The caravan of sunshine continues for Detroit this weekend. Each day will start with fog but finish with blue skies and warm conditions.

Fog dissipates by Saturday afternoon, and the sunshine will help temperatures rise in to the middle and upper 70s. It will be a wonderful day for a trip to the Detroit Zoo, Detroit's Riverfront, Greenfield Village or the 2014 Renaissance Festival.

Saturday evening will be spectacular for baseball. The Detroit Tigers will play the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park under clear skies. Temperatures will fall into the 60s by the end of the 7th inning, so spectators will need their favorite Tigers hats and jackets to stay warm as the Tigers fight to clinch the American League Central Division.

Saturday night will be clear and cool with lows in the 50s. Fog redevelops after midnight.

Sunday morning will be murky, again, with dense fog and cool conditions. The afternoon will become bright and warm with highs near 80 degrees. A very weak front passes overhead Sunday night into Monday morning. It does not mean rain, but it does mean more sunshine and temps back in the low 70s on Monday. Interestingly, that is still above average.

The rest of next week remains dry with it getting milder slowly each day. Temps will be in the middle 70s Tuesday through Thursday with mostly sunny skies.
