DETROIT -

After some light rain Saturday evening, Detroit gets a break with cloudy skies and mild conditions the rest of the night. However, showers and thunderstorm will develop to the west of Southeast Michigan and arrive in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Overnight temps will be in the middle and upper 60s.

Father's Day, Sunday will start with wet conditions at tee time. By lunch and the afternoon, the day will turn into a good day for a barbecue. Skies will become partly to mostly sunny, and it will be warm with highs in the low 80s. There is a slight chance of a return shower or two, but they will be more widely scattered.

Monday will be warm with another chance of rain. This time, soggy conditions will occur during the second half of the day instead of the first. Warm air will hang around with highs in the low 80s.

After a passing cold front, sunny skies return Tuesday with cooler and much less humid air and highs in the low 70s.

Summer begins at 1:04am ET, Friday. It will be warmer by then with daytime temps back to the low 80s. This is the perfect start to River Days in downtown Detroit.
