Sunny today, possible showers late tonight

Highs in the 80s

DETROIT – Weather changes by the minute in Michigan -- and this weekend will surely have a mixed bag of it in our area.

Today will feel like a hot summer day as temperatures heat up to the low 80s throughout Metro Detroit due to a southerly flow of wind and mostly sunny skies. Showers are likely to develop late tonight, into Saturday as a cold front passes through the area shifting the winds to a northerly flow with possible wind gusts of 15-20 mph.

Saturday looks to be a washout with rain showers throughout the day and evening hours. Rainfall amount could be near an inch. There is also the possibility of thunderstorms Saturday with a high of 75.

High pressure will roll back into Southeast Michigan on Sunday, bringing in drier air. Sunday will be the coolest day of the next seven with a low of in the upper 40s and the high only reaching 60.

Next week appears to have a gradual warm-up with temperatures rising to the 80s again by the end of the week.
