Temperatures near freezing to start the day Thursday

Chance of flurries throughout the morning

DETROIT –   It is colder out there this morning than it has been all week. And, that's saying something. Bottom line, you're going to need to warm that car up for a few minutes and wear an extra layer as you head out for that early morning walk.

Temps are in the 20s to low 30s to start the day and will only make it to the upper 40s once again this afternoon. Winds WNW 5-15 mph will certainly make it feel colder.

Radar is more active in SW Lower Michigan this morning bringing an increased chance that some of you may see a few flurries this morning. But for most, it's a dry day with mostly sunny skies turning mostly cloudy through the late morning and afternoon.

Friday is a repeat performance with freezing temps in the morning followed by wind chilly 40s in the afternoon. There's a weak chance for a few morning showers of mixed precipitation. That means some may see sleet or flurries but most of us will again be dry. We may not see warmer temps until the middle of next week so embrace the early taste of winter. We are hopeful that temps will warm to near normal (upper 50s) as we head towards Halloween next week.
