Temps dip into 20s overnight; moist air moves in

DETROIT – Sunday night becomes colder in Detroit, with all of Michigan having cooperative weather for travelers going or returning home.

Sunday evening will be clear and cold in Southeast Michigan with temperatures in the 30s.

Overnight, it will become colder with lows in the upper 20s and low 30s. A gentle, more southerly wind will bring slightly more moist air to the metro area. Fog will develop by dawn with with temps near or just below freezing. Frozen fog may form on roads and sidewalks, so use caution driving back to work and school.

Monday afternoon will be partly sunny and chilly with highs in the middle and upper 40s. Rain arrives Monday night and temperatures will be above freezing.

Tuesday will have clouds and rain showers, but it will be milder. Highs will be in the low 50s.

Wednesday will have falling temperatures with the passage of a cold front. Scattered rain will fall in the morning turning into scattered snow in the afternoon and evening. Be careful returning from school or the office.

Skies become clearer with chillier conditions, again, Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the 40s both days. It will be dry outside Ford Field Thursday night when the Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers.

TRAVEL WEATHER

Sunny skies and favorable weather will occur up and down the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego, Florida, New York and New England.

Snow will fall in The Rockies (including Denver). Icy conditions is persist through Texas's Northern Panhandle and the Central Plains (including Kansas City).

It will be rainy in Dallas and East Texas and through Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, northern Louisiana, northern Mississippi, northern Alabama and northern Georgia (including Atlanta).
