Temps in the 80s with storm chances in SE Michigan

Your weather is staying warm and steamy with an increase in storm chances later today. Most of today will be dry with a few isolated rain and thundershowers this morning with temps in the mid to upper 60s as you head out. Highs this afternoon will depend on the amount of sunshine as most of us should hit the low and mid 80s with a muggy feel and some areas could be close to 90 degrees. Parts of our West and South Zones are under a Slight Risk for severe storms today, while the rest of SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario will be under a lesser Marginal Risk for severe storms. The greatest threats are heavy downpours and flash flooding, dangerous lightning, and hail. Most of the heavier showers will be later into the early evening. But don’t keep your guard down as some gushing showers may even try to work into the area this morning.

Thursday will be touch and go with more scattered rain and thundershowers likely. We could have some heavy showers around through the morning and again in the afternoon. Highs will easily stay in the mid 80s with some areas of hazy sunshine during the middle of the day. Friday should again be mostly dry with a few scattered afternoon showers and storms and highs closer to 90 degrees.

Father’s Day Weekend showers and storms are still possible, but model data shows perfect timing right now. It will still be plenty warm this weekend with highs in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees. A few spotty showers possible Saturday afternoon and rain is expected overnight into early Sunday. But rain should start to depart by mid morning leaving Dad’s day dry into the afternoon.
