Temps to soar near 60 degrees Tuesday

DETROIT – Happy Veterans Day! Could this be the last decent day of the year?

Probably not, but we have cold and snow chances on the horizon.

The good news is, temps will soar to near 60 degrees today with breezy conditions SW 10-20 mph at times with a few stronger gusts.

Rain is on the way but it is going to take its sweet time getting into Metro Detroit.

Light, scattered rain showers may not start until after 2 or 3pm today allowing highs to climb a bit before the rain arrives.

Those showers will be around during the evening commute but right now, it doesn't look like anything more than a minor inconvenience for most of you.

After our Veteran's Day rain, temps will fall off very quickly.

Highs may briefly hit 40 degrees early Wednesday but we'll be in the 30s most of the day with wind chills in the 20s.

Winds shift to the WNW 10-20 mph bringing the chance for a few lake effect snow flurries through the afternoon tomorrow.

We will see some light snow falling in SE Lower Michigan on Thursday and Sunday ahead.  That means, we are going to stay cold for a while.
