Temps, wind chills plummet Sunday evening

Temps in the single digits overnight

DETROIT – An Alberta Clipper is on the way for Sunday, but Detroit and Southeast Michigan will not take a direct hit. This means the Motown area misses out on any large snowfall. However, a cold blast does move in behind it.

Sunday evening will be very cold with temps plummeting to the middle and low teens.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy and frigid as temperatures dive to the single digits and wind chills below zero.

Workers and students will need extra layers to stay warm early this week. Sub-zero wind chills will exist from Monday morning to Wednesday morning. Afternoon highs will be in the teens on Monday, near 20 on Tuesday and in the low 20s Wednesday. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy each day.

Snow showers are possible Thursday with highs in the low 30s. Temps return to the 20s Friday and Saturday with some sunshine.
