The last day of Spring brings summer-like temperatures

We will see mostly sunshine with high temps warming to the upper 70s

DETROIT – Another cool and clean start with clear skies and morning temps in the mid 50s around Detroit and some upper 40s in some of the suburbs.

It's the last official day of Spring and, right on cue, we will start warming up to a more summer like feel.

We will see mostly sunshine with high temps warming to the upper 70s with the help of SSE winds 5-10 mph.

Summer starts Friday just after 1 a.m. and it will be a bit more hot and humid with highs climbing into the low to mid 80s. Stormy weather will be building to our west all day. Right now, the computer models show those storms trying to push north of Metro Detroit Friday afternoon or evening keeping us dry.

With the heat of the afternoon, we may see a few isolated thundershowers late in the day.

Weekend storms will be hit or miss as warm, muggy, and unstable air takes hold of the Great Lakes Region for a few days. You can expect highs in the mid to upper 80s to near 90 degrees with scattered showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday.
