We are right in the heart of the risk area for severe storms later today.

As our heat and humidity increase today, there’s a chance for spotty showers and storms through the early afternoon but the main event will be in the late afternoon or early evening. Keep your eyes to the skies and on the radar right here on

The main threats include damaging winds, heavy downpours, and deadly lightning.  The bulk of the heavy rain and strong storm activity will be after 4pm and may last until 8 or 9 p.m. Then, more light rain is likely through tonight.

A cold front will bring cooler temps this weekend. We will bottom out at 60 degrees Saturday morning and then only manage upper 60s tomorrow afternoon. Winds from the NW 10-20 mph will bring lake enhanced clouds and a few light afternoon/evening rain showers.

Sunday will be even cooler with lows in the 40s and highs in the mid 60s.

Our latest computer model information is trying to keep a few isolated showers around midday on Sunday. The official start of Fall is Sunday at 4:44pm.
