Warm and rainy weather Thursday

DETROIT – It is very mild out there this morning in the 40s dropping into the upper 30s for some, with partly cloudy skies early.

Clouds will be increasing today and overcast skies are what may keep us from hitting 70° on your Thursday afternoon.

Isolated showers are possible in the late morning and early afternoon, but our main threat for wet weather will come later this afternoon and evening.

Scattered rain and thundershowers appear around 2pm and a more intense line of showers and storms will rumble through this evening.

Right now, we are not in a risk for any severe storms but keep your eyes to the skies as we do expect lightning and some heavy downpours.

Gusty winds will be cranking this afternoon SW 10-25 mph or stronger and highs will be in the mid 60s to near 70 degrees

Most of Friday is cooler and dry in the upper 40s to low and mid 50s. But evening showers will move in from the south and southwest around dinner time tomorrow.

Winds shift NW 7-12 mph and we could even see a wintry mix very late Friday and/or early Saturday.

The weekend will be cooler in the mid to upper 40s with breezy conditions and sun on Saturday.

And, a few more clouds and rain chances on Easter Sunday.

Timing is everything and a cool start early Sunday could bring a few wet snowflakes with cool rain chances, but it doesn't look like we're in for any major showers this weekend. should be mostly dry with highs again in the mid to upper 40s and partly sunny skies.

We'll let you know about Sunday rain chances as we get closer to those Easter Egg Hunts. Again, right now it doesn't look too threatening.

An early look at Detroit Tigers opening day this Monday calls for mild temps again near 48-52 degrees, and drizzle or light rain will be in the area.

That means mainly 40s downtown in the early afternoon with cool breezes and some drizzle.

Again… stay tuned!
