More humid air arrives with a passing warm front Sunday night and Monday and will make the air more unstable. Overnight temperatures will be in the low and middle 60s under mostly cloudy skies.
Spotty showers and a few thunderstorms are possible Monday with more muggy air. Not everyone will get wet, but all of the Motor City area will be very warm and humid with highs in the middle and upper 80s. Families setting up for the Ford Fireworks early must stay hydrated and prepare for a shower or two during the day, especially between 1pm ET and 7pm ET.
During the night of the Ford Fireworks, a cold front will create a line of showers and thunderstorms marching across Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Southwest Michigan. Timing is crucial with these storms and the 10pm start of the fireworks display. Showers and storms will be on downtown Detroit's western doorstep. For now, the likelihood of soggy weather exists for the ride home for many spectators.
