Warm, muggy Saturday night in Metro Detroit

Lows near 70 degrees

DETROIT – The last weekend in June is the first full (48-hour) summer weekend in Detroit, and higher temperatures and humidity will arrive right on time.

Saturday morning will be mostly clear, mild and comfortable with temperatures in the 60s. It will be perfect for motorcycle riding at the Wounded Warrior Ride Fundraiser in Warren, which starts at 7am ET.

Saturday afternoon will be mostly sunny, warm and a bit more humid with highs in the middle 80s. Families going to the Stars and Stripes Festival at Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights must drink plenty of water to stay cool and healthy.

Saturday evening is filled with concerts and gatherings in Detroit. Beck is at Fox Theatre, Toni Braxton and Kenny Babyface Edmonds are at Chene Park and the Calvin Johnson Foundation Scholarship Extravaganza is in the Marriott Detroit Renaissance Center Hotel. Temperatures will be near 80 degrees before the 9:14pm ET sunset, and there is a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Fortunately, most areas will remain dry.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy, warm and muggy with lows in the upper 60s. Fireworks displays should be a go for an early celebration of Independence Day.

Sunday will feel hotter with partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the middle and upper 80s, but the humidity will make it feel like 90 degrees or more. There is a better chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms forming in the afternoon and evening. Lifeguards will keep ears keen for any thunder.

Monday and Tuesday will have more of the same. It will be very warm and humid with showers and thunderstorms and highs in the middle 80s. Wednesday through the 4th of July will be sunnier and more comfortable with highs back in the 70s.
