DETROIT -

The first full weekend of Summer 2013 is here and it is a steamy one.

For safety's sake, everyone must remember to remain hydrated, wear light, loose-fitting clothes and stay close to air conditioned facilities. Alcohol and caffeinated beverages do not keep the body hydrated. Water is best. Also, remember to use sunscreen.

Saturday night will be warm and muggy with lows near 70.

Sunday and Monday will be a repeat of Saturday. Highs will be near 90; perfect for the pool or the beach. There is a chance of afternoon or evening storms on Monday, the day of the Ford Fireworks. As in years past, there is a chance of showers dissipating or going away just in time for the light show.

MARINE FORECAST
Remember life jackets for everyone, properly working radio and communications equipment, and telling people on-shore all boating plans.
