Warm sunshine Sunday afternoon in Metro Detroit

Highs between 80, 85 degrees

DETROIT – Beautiful summer-like weather returns Sunday with Detroiters getting a glimpse of the Extra Supermoon early in the morning and maybe a few Perseid meteors at night.

Sunday afternoon will be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the low and middle 80s. Conditions will be perfect for trips to the pool or beach and outdoor weddings or barbeques.

Sunday evening will be fair and mild with temperatures in the 70s.

A few more clouds will gather Sunday night with lows in the 60s by Monday morning.

Monday and Tuesday will be cloudier with showers and thunderstorms moving in and developing. It will be cooler with the gray skies. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 70s Monday and in the middle 70s Tuesday.

Wednesday and Thursday will be fall-like again. Similar to previous patterns this summer, night-time and morning lows will be in the 50s. Highs will be in the low 70s Wednesday and middle 70s Thursday. This may not be the summertime heat some Detroiters want, but at least families can save on their air conditioning bill.

Mostly sunny skies remain Friday for the start of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Also, it gets warmer with afternoon highs closer to 80 degrees.
