Warm temps, some snow this weekend

DETROIT – Temperatures go in the correct direction for many; up this weekend and next week. Snowflakes come down the first half of Detroit's weekend, though.

A warm front brings higher temps but some flurries and light snow showers, too. Flakes will begin falling after 9am and on and off through the Saturday afternoon. Accumulations will be minor, and highs will be in the middle and upper 30s. Families going to Autorama at Cobo Center or the Golf Show at Novi Showplace will need to drive carefully and wear their coats, hats, scarves and gloves.

Temps will be near freezing Saturday evening with mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday night will be mostly to partly cloudy with lows in the 20s. We "Spring Forward" 1 hour before going to bed to begin Daylight Saving Time. Also, it is a good time to check and replace all batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Sunday will be sunnier with highs back above freezing. It will be partly sunny with highs in the middle 30s. The rest of next week will be relatively calm and milder with sunshine and highs in the 40s. Nighttime lows will stay out of the single digits and be in the 20s. Next Wednesday will be the warmest day with highs near 50 degrees. Everyone in Southeast Michigan can enjoy the thaw, get the car washed and head outdoors with the family.
