Warm with scattered rain and thundershowers in SE Michigan

The warm air is not going anywhere as we wake once again to temps in the upper 60s to low 70s around Metro Detroit as you head out on this Tuesday morning. Clouds are increasing and skies will stay mostly cloudy all day. We may get a few cloud breaks for hazy, partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s, but the lack of solid sun will keep us from the 90s today. There will be scattered rain and thundershowers this afternoon and evening and some of them could be heavy. We have a Marginal Risk (very low) for severe weather later today with the main threats being heavy downpours and some large hail, especially in Detroit and south toward the Ohio Border. Winds from the NE 5-12 mph will keep some of our North Zone in the upper 70s to low 80s while the rest of us are noticeably warmer.

Scattered showers early Wednesday with morning clouds around and temps in the 60s to start your Hump Day. With the clouds and spotty afternoon showers again, highs will only hit the upper 70s to low 80s and another Marginal Risk for a few storms to be strong to severe. The heat will pour back in Thursday and Friday and the scattered storms also keep coming.

Father’s Day Weekend is up in the air but it seems like our trend or pattern will continue. Right now, models show shower chances this weekend and temps in the mid 80s. Look for scattered afternoon showers and storms Saturday and morning showers breaking up midday on Father’s Day. You can track radar and when we expected more rain with our Local4Casters app.
