DETROIT – Friday night will be warm and muggy with showers and storms arriving after 9 p.m. ET.
Areas south and west of Detroit will be hit first, including Lenawee and Monroe Counties and western Washtenaw County. The Tigers' game against the Royals at Comerica Park will have no weather worries for the 7:08 p.m. ET start.

Showers and thunderstorms migrate across the entire Motown region overnight. The National Weather Service (NWS) has the area under a "Marginal Risk" of strong to severe storms. Rain will be heavy at times, the wind will be gusty, and there may be frequent lightning. A weather radio comes in handy during the wee hours of the morning because an alarm will sound if any alerts are issued by the NWS.
Saturday will be soggy in the morning. Then a cold front moves through bringing windier, cooler conditions. Afternoon temps will be in the low 70s with a 10 to 20 mph wind from the northwest.
Summer's last Sunday will be sunnier, but it will feel like fall. Highs will be in the middle and upper 60s.
More sunshine is on the way much of next week. Plus, it gets milder. Highs will be near 70 Monday. Yom Kippur is on Tuesday and Wednesday with daytime temps in the low to middle 70s (sunset between 7:25 p.m. ET and 7:33 p.m. ET). Fall begins at 4:20 a.m. ET, Wednesday, with the Autumnal Equinox.
