Warmer Wednesday with rounds of rain

DETROIT – Scattered and very light rain around Metro Detroit this morning with heavier bouts of wet weather on the way.

This rainy pattern will not be an all day soaker for many. The radar and model data suggest areas west and northwest of Detroit will see the heaviest rains through the afternoon.

A slow moving cold front will stall out over SE Lower Michigan today and it’s all a matter of where it sits as to who will get the most rain. We all need to be prepared for rounds of rain and some thunder, while some could get as much as a half inch to an inch of rain. During rain breaks temps will warm to 60 degrees or slightly warmer with winds SSE 5-12 mph.

A few showers will linger tonight but conditions improve for Cinco De Mayo. We will see plenty of sun tomorrow as highs get into the mid 60s. Cooler breezes will pipe in NNW 10-15 mph.

We could easily see a lot of 70 degrees readings by the end of the week and early weekend. Sunshine to start your Friday and then puffy cumulus clouds will be filling in.  Saturday starts out nice with highs getting into the 70s, but rain moves in Saturday late afternoon or evening. This wet weather should be gone by Mother’s Day.
