DETROIT – Mostly clear skies will prevail during the first half of tonight.
A cold front moving slowly southward across the Upper Peninsula actually generated some snow north of Michigan earlier today, but moisture being used to generate precipitation is shifting off to the east, so it appears that the front will approach our area late tonight with no rain.
However, wind shifting around behind the front will blow off of Lake Huron and generate some low-level moisture and clouds, which will slide across southeast Michigan late tonight and first thing Thursday morning.
Overnight lows in the mid to upper 40s, depending upon when the clouds reach your area. Very light northwest wind, shifting to the north-northeast, late.
Expect plenty of cloud cover during at least the first half of the day on Thursday, with some clearing possibly beginning by mid to late afternoon. Highs in the low 60s. North-northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph.
Clearing continues Thursday night, with lows near 40.
Mostly sunny on Friday -- an awesome day to end the work week! Highs in the mid to upper 60s.
Becoming partly cloudy Friday night, with lows in the mid 50s.
Saturday will feature a nice warm-up, but some scattered light showers aren't out of the question, either…with afternoon offering the best chance. Not everybody will necessarily get a shower, but I won't have a better handle on the timing and coverage until Thursday and Friday, when I see new computer model data that has a better handle on the approaching upper level weather system. Highs in the mid to upper 70s!
All of us should get some rain Saturday night, with lows in the low 60s.
Morning showers are possible on Sunday, which will hopefully leave us dry for the afternoon. Highs in the low 70s.
Monday through Wednesday then look dry, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
