Winds are cranking, dragging in warmer air

DETROIT – The winds are cranking again today but they are trying to drag warmer air for our Wednesday afternoon. We'll see plenty of sunshine with highs near 40 degrees with winds SW 10-20 mph with stronger gusts. That will make the temps feel closer to 30 degrees this afternoon as we are on our way out of the freeze and the coldest air we've in about 8 months. Clear skies and cooling temps this evening. Overnight lows will only dip into the mid 20s for early Thursday.

More cool air hangs around early tomorrow but it will be a bit warmer. As we transition to a warmer air mass, our winds will increase SW 15-25 mph gusting above 30 mph at times. That wind will keep dragging warmer air into SE Michigan through the rest of the week. So, Thursday is sunny, windy, and feeling cooler than the thermometer reads with highs climbing into the mid 40s.

We will eventually see temps hit the 50s this weekend but we will see some rain as we warm up as well. Grab the latest radar images, neighborhood temps, and a look at your chilly forecast on the new ClickOnDetroit app (it's free!) in your app store.
