Wintry mix to hit Metro Detroit

Patchy fog will start the day

Patchy fog will greet us as we head out and about early Sunday with low temperatures near freezing or just a bit cooler.

Sunday's breeze will bring temperatures into the 20s.  Clouds will cover the area all day, but the wet weather won't likely hit until noon or just a bit later. Look for a wintry mix to start with temps in the middle to upper 30s, which means some wet snow and sleet will mix in with the rain around Metro Detroit with more snow likely again north of M-59. The mix will turn to all rain for most into the afternoon with the passage of a warm front and temps warming to near 40 degrees. However, it may hang on as snow for our northern counties. Rain with isolated pockets of snow will become more scattered into the evening.

Monday morning will bring scattered light rain or possibly another wintry mix and then just scattered light snow showers into the afternoon with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s most of the day.
