High school traditions are flowing in, and we love them!

Milford's Fan Van, Da La Salle's Chariot Races and Troy Athens Dedication Day are among the traditions shared so far with 4Frenzy, our celebration of all things high school. Here's the list, so far:

Detroit Catholic Central's football team stole the Beatrice Street sign the week of their game against Brother Rice. Beatrice=Beat Rice.

The Trenton High School Band RED HAT has been worn at every band camp and band practice since the 1970s. It is passed down from a senior to an underclassman to be worn the next year.

Homecoming week the Stevenson High School football players TP the cheerleader's houses and the next day the cheerleader's TP the football players houses to get pumped up for the big game.

Dearborn High School's soccer team took an overnight trip to Camp Dearborn before the season to bond as a team and play beach soccer.

Brighton High School's marching band leaves the field in silence if the football loses a home game.

Grosse Pointe North's soccer and cross country teams get together for a pasta dinner the night before home games.

When Ladywood High School plays the Mercy Marlins, fans dress up as fishermen complete with fishing poles.

Students and alumni at Redford Union High School play an annual game of Donkey Basketball, where everyone rides a donkey and tries to make baskets. The tradition dates to 1957.

The Belleville Tigers Marching Band members wear their hats backwards when the football team wins.

At the end of home football games, Huron High School fans gather with the team and marching band in the end zone to sing the school fight song, win or lost.

Western International football and basketball played Southwestern High School for a brown jug every year. Crowds always cheered to see the jug at games.

De La Salle High School seniors hold a chariot race during halftime at the Homecoming game. Watch:

Players and coaches at Gabriel Richard Catholic High School ring a giant bell at the school after wins.

Before the Waterford Kettering Marching Band leaves for band camp, seniors pick up the new band members and take them for breakfast at an indisclosed location. They welcome the new members, pass on knowledge and reminisce about their first 3 years.

Rochester Adams Highlander football teams follow the bag piper down the hill onto the field before every home game since 1985.

Milford High School's "Fan Van" (see the picture above) leads the Flag crew that spell out MILFORD through the streets of downtown Milford and to the opposing teams fields.

The Troy Athens Red Hawks have a tradition of Dedication Day. Every player lets the team know who they are dedicating their season to. From family members to lost friends. It's a very emotional event for the young men at Athens. Not only does it help them share their fears and weaknesses with their peers, it bonds the team to ensure their cohesiveness as one unit.

From at least 1997 to 2006, Warren Woods High School would feed everyone at the Homecoming week pep rally burgers from White Castle or Hot N Now. They'd place boxes of burgers all over the field for the crowd.
