The ducklings got frightened by a passing car and all seven of them fell into a drain.

But, Ballard wasn't going to let the helpless ducklings down. It took nearly two hours of fighting with the storm drain cover and some creative improvising to craft the right duckling recovery tools.

With the help of the Scio Township Fire Department, all seven of the ducklings were safely plucked from certain death in the storm drain and reunited with their mother.

Ballard then stuck around to safely escort the featured family across the road.
