Intruder apologizes during break-in at Washtenaw County home

Nothing taken during incident in Superior Township Thursday morning


SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities in Washtenaw County are looking for a man who broke into a home Thursday morning and apologized before fleeing.

In a statement, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said the man got into a Superior Township home in the 6000 block of Stommel Court through a rear door just before 10 a.m.

The homeowner confronted the intruder on the second level of the house. The intruder apologized before running out of the house, the Sheriff's Office said.

Nothing was taken.

The intruder is described as a light-skinned black man with a mustache, wearing a winter hat with stripes, higher-end tan coat and possibly wearing blue jeans.
