ANN ARBOR, Mich – The Big Hearts for Seniors benefit at the Michigan Theater on May 23 will bring awareness and funds to five Ann Arbor community programs.
Money raised by the benefit will be given to Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels, Housing Bureau for Seniors, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Silver Club Memory Programs and the Turner Senior Wellness Program, which all support older adults in the Ann Arbor community.
Along with a silent auction and entertainment, attendees will be able to watch a screening of “Care to Laugh,” AARP’s first original documentary. Showing at 7 p.m., “Care to Laugh” follows comedian Jesus Trejo as he balances his career with caring for his aging parents.
In 2018, Big Hearts for Seniors was able to raise $50,000 for community programs. For this year’s fundraiser, the 14th annual Big Hearts for Seniors, the goal is to surpass the $50,000 mark.
