ANN ARBOR – Here’s something to get you into the holiday spirit.

Country Living Magazine has ranked Ann Arbor as the No. 9 best Christmas town in its recent story “50 Best Christmas Towns You Should Add to Your Bucket List This December.”

That’s right. No. 9 out of 50.

According to Country Living:

“There’s so much to love about a Christmas in Ann Arbor, from the dozens of holiday events offered (think: free outdoor markets, German food fairs, lantern parades, s’mores roasting, and live music, just to name a few). The annual ‘Holiday Pops’ event, presented by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, is a can’t-miss spectacle.”

Ann Arbor is certainly known for its festive holiday events, from KindleFest and Midnight Madness to numerous tree lighting ceremonies, there is plenty to celebrate during the holiday season.

Did you know that Ann Arbor also has its very own reindeer?

Sven resides at The Creature Conservancy and will be featured in December for Festive Fridays -- three evenings of holiday light displays, hot cocoa, cookies, animal presentations and more.

Another fun activity -- which is offered year round -- is playing the Kerrytown Chime. Anyone can give it a go Wednesdays and Fridays at noon and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays. During the holiday season, play Christmas classics for all of Kerrytown to hear.
