Cellist, composer Tomeka Reid and quartet to perform two shows in Ann Arbor Nov. 6

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - New York-based Tomeka Reid will perform with her talented quartet at the Blue LLama Jazz Club in downtown Ann Arbor on Nov. 6. 

Beginning at 7 p.m., the Tomeka Reid Quartet will play two sets of vibrant and lively arrangements. Reid, a cellist, composer and educator, will be joined by drummer Tomas Fujiwara, guitarist Mary Halvorson and bassist Jason Roebke -- musicians who Reid has worked with numerous times over the years.

Known for her dynamic and melodic jazz and improvisational music, Reid has been called a power source for new jazz and has played within many well-known music ensembles. Her versatile style incorporates groove, experimental music and improv that highlight a wealth of skill. 

Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. set and seating for the 9:30 p.m. set starts promptly at 8:45 p.m.

Tickets for the show range in cost from $15 for seating at the bar to $35 for a front-row table with complimentary bubbles. General seating costs $25.
