Chef Nic Sims will host a cooking demo Wednesday

The event will showcase different recipes using ingredients purchased at the market

ANN ARBOR - It's officially fall, and with it comes delicious produce like sweet butternut squash. 

Looking for inspiration in the kitchen? Harvest Week at the Market is here to help.

Head on down to Ann Arbor Farmers Market 10 a.m. - noon on Wednesday, where chef Nic Sims, of The Jefferson Market, will be hosting a cooking demonstration to give you recipe ideas using seasonal ingredients from local vendors. 

Even better: You'll be able to sample her custom crafted dishes.

On the menu

Harvest hash with apple cider honey and herbed polenta

  •  Diced carrot, parsnip, onion, butternut squash (sautéed/roasted) tossed with cider honey 
  •  Polenta with sage and rosemary

Butternut squash and apple soup, garnished two ways:

  •  Fried capers, pepitas & lemon balsamic (something from Fustini's), AND
  •  Cider honey drizzle, chantilly cream, chervil pluche

Cauliflower with coconut curry and fresh herbs
