Bisi Onile-Ere

Bisi joined the Local 4 News Team in the summer of 2008. And she didn’t have to travel far to call Metro Detroit home.

Before arriving here, Bisi was an anchor and reporter at WJRT-TV in Flint. While in mid-Michigan, Bisi helped launch ABC 12’s top rated newscast, “ First at Four.” In addition to co-anchoring the one hour newscast, Bisi was the lead reporter for the 11 o’clock newscast.

She left Mid-Michigan with strong ties to the community, and the United Auto Workers. During her time there, Bisi was honored with two Emmy Awards, and an Associated Press Award.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bisi earned her degree from the University of Minnesota School of Journalism. While in college she started her career at home, working her way up as an intern, then production assistant at WCCO-TV (CBS). After Bisi graduated, she headed to northern Minnesota where she worked as a morning anchor and reporter for KDLH-TV (CBS).
With a mother born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, and too many family visits to count, it was only a matter of time before Bisi would call Michigan home.
During her free time, Bisi enjoys reading and traveling,

Bisi’s favorite restaurant: The Hudson Café on Gratiot and Woodward in downtown Detroit.

Favorite Book: I read plenty, here’s my book of the moment, “Why is God laughing?” by Deepak Chopra. It’s a must read!

Favorite movie: It’s a tie between “ The Wiz.”

Favorite holiday: Anytime with my family and friends is worth celebrating!

Best advice I’ve ever received: “ Attitude is everything.”
