Goodwill Industries opening a store in Dearborn

DEARBORN, Mich. - Goodwill Industries says it's gotten final approval from the city of Dearborn to put a new, "upscale" style store in a vacant commercial building just off of Michigan Avenue and Military.

A spokesperson for Goodwill says the decision comes after several tries with Dearborn officials and in the wake of come people in the area saying they didn't want a Goodwill store in that area.

Goodwill says it's filling a spot that's been left vacant for years and will invest $500,000 into the building to make the store look like it's "boutique" Goodwill that recently opened in Canton Township.

25 employees will be hired and the new store will be open for sales and donations by fall.
