Teachers can apply for cash grants through Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union

Local 4 is proud to bring back the Michigan School Expo for a second year.

Hundreds of schools, preschool through college and trade schools, will all be under one roof for students and parents to talk to.

There will also be reps offering grant opportunities for teachers.

The Michigan School and Government Credit Union has cash grant programs that give teachers chances to supplement learning.

Last year, more than 47 grants worth more than $40,000 were awarded.

Any teacher in Macomb and Oakland counties can apply for up to $1,000.

Teachers apply online and then solicit votes. The teacher with the most votes wins.
