Annual walk in Bloomfield Hills helps children with special needs

Walk4Friendship will raise money to support Friendship Circle

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – This year's annual Friendship Circle, Walk4Friendship will feature the internationally acclaimed Zuma Zuma, best known for its African Style Cirque du Soleil.

After being discovered on a well known national reality television show, Zuma Zuma has traveled the world and now they are coming to Detroit to help lead this year's walk.

The walk is expected to attract more than 5,000 men, women and children and will support children with special needs.

The 5K walk begins at 12:30 p.m. and runs until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 2nd on the grounds of Friendship Circle located at 6892 West Maple Road.

A free carnival for all who attend will be set up at the Jewish Community Center and Zuma Zuma will perform at 2 p.m.

Friendship Circle provides a safe and secure place to learn for children who face life challenges such as Autism.

Founded 17 years ago by Bassie and Levi Shemtov, Friendship Circle has more than 80 chapters.

Blaine and Allyson of 96.3 WDVD will Emcee this years Walk4Friendship and Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard will participate along with members of the mounted unit.
