Volunteers, supplies and tools needed to remodel Cody High School

Life Remodeled hoping for donations of tools including lawn equipment to help give school, neighborhood a facelift

The plans are in place, thousands of volunteers have signed up, but Life Remodeled is hoping more people will be able to pitch in and help them renovate and transform Cody High School and the surrounding neighborhood.

Life Remodeled plans to renovate the school and 100 blocks around it this summer.

The major work will be done the week of Aug. 11 with the school getting a major facelift and the neighborhood cleaned up and beautified.   Some of the students' homes will be remodeled.

The students and teachers will also benefit from a new medical simulation lab, a new home economics center with six kitchens, a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) lab with an assembly line robot, a teachers lounge and a new football field.

The high school football team has not been able to hold a home game in eight years because the previous field was ruined by graffiti and lack of irrigation.

Work is already underway with for new weight rooms and garden update.

The project, which Local 4's Chuck Gaidica has been showcasing in his Force 4 Good reports, already has 10,000 volunteers signed up to help.

Chris Lambert, president and founder of Life Remodeled, said they are still in need of tools and equipment to help with blight removal and beautification.
