Second annual Detroit-Area Female Ride Day Saturday

DETROIT – Detroit-area female motorcyclists took part in an annual internationally-synchronized ride day Saturday.

The campaign intends to bring awareness to women riders and encourage others to explore their interest in biking. As role models for motorcycling, these women rode for about 60 miles, including a stop at the Central Train Station in Detroit and the YWCA of metro Detroit to donate collections from riders.

The event happened at 1:30 p.m. and began at Biker Bob's Harley-Davidson in Taylor, Michigan. Women of all ages with different brands and models of bikes participated in the event.
