Annual Parade VIP Pancake Breakfast serves up floats and flapjacks

Event presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan

The Parade Company is hosting the 17th annual Parade VIP Pancake Breakfast presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Friday morning serving up floats and flapjacks.

Ford Motor Company and The Parade Company is expected to unveil the new Ford float, which will ride down Woodward Avenue during the 90th America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van.

Gov. Rick Snyder is expected to offer remarks and serve as a pancake flipper at the breakfast, along with Parade Company president and CEO Tony Michaels and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan president and CEO Dan Loepp.

The event raises awareness and support for the parade held annually in Detroit.

Emmy-winning actor Keegan-Michael Key was named as co-grand marshal of the parade, along with U.S. Appeals Court Judge Damon Keith.

America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van is Nov. 24 and will air on Local 4 and livestream on ClickonDetroit.com.

Key and Keith will be joined by U.S. Olympic athletes Allison Schmitt, Aly Raisman and April Ross, singer and songwriter Mike Posner, Motown singer Martha Reeves of Martha and the Vandellas, and the Broadway cast of Motown the Musical. Also joining the parade is the Yankee Air Museum Rosie the Riveter Tribute Corps including two original riveters.
