Chocolate milk to fuel 'Martian Invasion of Races' in Dearborn

Event helps support Dearborn Parks & Recreation Department, Michigan Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training

DEARBORN, Mich. - Running Fit's Martian Invasion of Races event will take place Saturday, April 13 and will feature various running distances, including a marathon, half-marathon, 10K, 5K, and children can join the Kid's Marathon program.

Event organizers say all of the courses are "wide, traffic-free, beautiful and lightly rolling."

Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate. The annual event is sponsored by the United Dairy Industry of Michigan and will help support the Dearborn Parks and Recreation Department and the Michigan Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.

The USATF certified race will have chip timing, overall and age-group awards, finisher medals, water and Gatorade stops, 'outta this world' tech shirts, and awesome cash prizes. In addition, organizers of the event say the marathon can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Race Start Times

  • 7 am - Marathon
  • 8 am - 10k
  • 8 am - Half Marathon
  • 8 am - 5k
  • 12 pm - Kid's Marathon
